My Baby Sister's Wedding

Monday, October 6, 2014

Hello friends, Happy Monday!

I want to start with a big congratulations to my sister Katie and new brother-in-law Kenny!  Their wedding day was this past Saturday and it couldn't have been more perfect.  I'm excited to share all the details from the matron of honor's (and mother of the ring bearer's) view today.

Our festivities started on Friday night at the rehearsal at Fort Caroline Baptist Church.  After we rehearsed we attempted some family photos but Graham was definitely not feeling it.  We somehow managed to snap a few good ones.

Following the rehearsal we all enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Secret Garden.  It was quite interesting at times with Sawyer and Graham running around like crazy animals but we still enjoyed it.  I'm thankful for everyone's patience towards them.  I know they can bring the noise level up a few notches!

If you know me and my family you know we don't shy away from taking pictures.  My sister's bridal party is full of some genuinely sweet, caring & beautiful women.  Of course we had to snap some group shots!

And we can't forget about Mom!

Saturday, October 4th finally arrived and it was wedding time! The weather was sunny with a cool breeze and everyone was so happy to spend the day with the bride.  The day started bright & early around 9:00 at our house in Nocatee.  I consider myself lucky that my sister planned her wedding in Crosswater Hall at Nocatee - I didn't have to wake up early and get ready, everyone came to me! Ha.

We enjoyed The Donut Shoppe for breakfast and Zoe's for lunch and just sat around and talked and watched each other get pampered all morning.  It was great!

Once we arrived at Crosswater Hall we got dressed and took pictures with the photographer. (Devon of Devon Donnahoo Photography, she's fabulous!)  I also found some time to snap pics of Katie with our grandmother and the adorable ring bearer (my son) and flower girl (my niece Sawyer).

Isn't this venue perfection?!  I also love the color combination my sister chose - navy & raspberry with gold accents.  It was perfect for fall!

Me & my cousin Kaleigh snapping some pics in our comfortable and affordable bridesmaid dresses.

Special moment with Katie & Grandmama.

Graham the ring bearer & Sawyer the flower girl.  Aren't they just the cutest?!

Finally 4:00 rolled around and it was time for the ceremony.  It was beautiful (unfortunately I don't have any pictures since I was in it).  Graham walked down the aisle holding my hand and he did such a good job!  He also sat through the whole ceremony relatively quietly with Sawyer.

After they were pronounced Mr. & Mrs. the bridal party took more pics with the photographer then returned to the bridal room to relax for a bit before the reception.  You know what that means - more photo ops!

My family, I love them more than words can say!

Love my sissy!

Once the rehearsal began the real party started!  We enjoyed a yummy dinner with a mashed potato bar, snapped pics in the photo booth and spent time with friends and family from near and far.  I also had the honor of reading my poem I wrote for Katie to her and Kenny during the toast.  I always enjoy doing that for the weddings I'm the honor attendant in and this one was the most special!

After that the excitement was kicked up a notch starting with the Father Daughter dance.  Just take a look at the pictures of the end of it.  My Dad has some moves!  That must be where Katie and I get it from.  I'm pretty sure my Mom agrees.

So sweet!

My Dad is the best!

Isn't Katie's dress gorgeous?

G insisted on wearing Papa's sunglasses for the rest of the night.

By the end of the night Sawyer & Graham had stole the show!

I know I speak for everyone in the wedding party when I say we had an amazing time.  We danced, cried, laughed, hugged and just enjoyed each other's company in celebration of a great couple.

Many awesome memories were made!
Congrats again to Katie & Kenny!

Thanks for reading, I hope you have a great week!

Seagrove Beach Vacation 2014

Monday, June 16, 2014

Hello friends!

Yes, I am still alive. :)

May was a crazy month for us between multiple work trips, our 6th anniversary and vacation.  We're finally getting back into the groove so here I am!

We decided a few months ago that we wanted to take a family vacation to the beach.  We knew we wanted to invite my parents to show our appreciation for everything they do for us (my mom watches Graham while I'm working).  We couldn't leave my sis out so she came too!

Josh and I first stayed in Seagrove Beach 5 years ago to celebrate our first anniversary.  We enjoyed it so much that we returned for our babymoon in 2012.  We knew it was the perfect place to share our first vacation as a family of three.  In case you're unfamiliar with Seagrove Beach, it's located in the panhandle of Florida between Panama City and Destin along State Road 30A.  The sand is as white as sugar and the water is much more clear than the Atlantic.  Seagrove is perfectly located between Rosemary Beach and Alys Beach to the east and Seaside and Watercolor to the west.  There are so many quaint beach towns nearby that there's always somewhere to go and something to see.

I highly recommend this area of Florida for your next beach vacation.  You will not be disappointed!

Here are some shots from our trip, we had a blast!  As always, thanks for reading.  Have a great week!

He's the only baby I know who will keep his sunglasses on for hours!  We're so thankful!

Fab Finds Friday: Mothers' Day Gift Guide

Friday, May 2, 2014

Hello Friends!

Today is my birthday!  I apologize for the laziness lack of posts lately, I've been giving myself a slight "break" for my birthday week.  Thanks for understanding!

How convenient that my birthday is on "Fab Finds Friday"!  I thought it would be perfect to post some things I love that would make great birthday or Mother's Day gifts.  With spring underway and summer just around the corner, these Ray-bans and this floppy hat will be perfect for beach days or TPC next week!  You also can't go wrong by spoiling her with a new watch or David Yurman bracelet.  Crossbody bags like this one from Tory Burch are perfect for moms because they keep her hands free to chase and grab runaway children, haha.  And what woman doesn't love bath and body goodies like these Philosophy & Clarisonic gift sets?  If you want to give her a gift that will really warm her heart, get her a journal and have your child(ren) write messages to Mommy in it each Mothers' Day (swoon!).  I'm certain she would also love this necklace (or necklaces depending on how many children you have) with her child's name on it.  I have one and love it!

I hope this guide helps you find the perfect gift for your wife or mother!  Have a great weekend!

Monday Mix Up: Fun in the Sun

Monday, April 28, 2014

Hello friends!

I hope you enjoyed your weekend.  The weather has been hot gorgeous here in Florida lately and we spent most of it outside.  Our theme for the Monday Mix Up this week is "Fun in the Sun", which is perfect for our weekend roundup!

Saturday we woke up bright and early and headed to the Jacksonville Zoo!  My cousin and her family and my aunt and uncle drove from Tallahassee and met us.  We had a great time with all the kids (they're so well-behaved) and made sure we covered every area of the zoo.  If you haven't been or haven't been in a while you need to check it out.  We really have an award-winning zoo and they keep making improvements.  Our favorites were the giraffes (and getting to feed them) along with the new tiger exhibit.

Poor Graham, he enjoyed the carousel when it was stationary.  Once the animals started moving up and down, he hated it!

After our trip to the zoo we enjoyed burgers and my grandmother's pound cake (made with love by my mom, great job Mom!) at my parents' house.  We also had more fun outside playing in the sand box and playing corn hole.  We're so glad our family was able to come visit!

On Sunday our church hosted an old-fashioned Friend Day!  We had lunch on the grounds and enjoyed each other's company.  There were multiple bounce houses and toys for the kids.  It was a great time!

I hope you were able to enjoy some fun in the sun this weekend too.  As always, thanks for reading! Have a great week!

Bloggers, link up with us!  Share your Fun in Sun pics with us or anything, we're not picky.  We just ask that you follow The Heathered Life & The Hollinsworth House on GFC or Bloglovin' and link back to our sites on your post.  Our theme next week is BLUE!  Make sure to stop by and check out some new blogs and make friends!
